What a fun place! We drove all the way to Jacksonville to see one of my favorite folk musicians who was playing at the Mojo Kitchen that night. That was the ONLY reason we went, but the food was a great surprised! Yes, I was skeptical of how good the barbecue was going to be when it was served at such a slick restaurant just miles from the Atlantic beach. I am from the World's Most Beautiful beaches in the Panhandle, and I know a tourist trap when I see one, and, despite its location, the Mojo Kitchen is NOT a trap! We were seated promptly, and given armbands since we were staying for the show. The service during out entire visit (a long one, since we watched the whole concert) was friendly and pretty fast, even though they weren't making a killing off of me because I wasn't guzzling beers like many of the other patrons. Speaking of beer, they have an "ok" selection. Mostly just domestics from what I could see. On to the food. I had the pulled pork sandwich. It came piled with a very generous portion of pulled pork, on a bun, with fries and pickles on the side. The fries were good. I believe they might have been seasoned. The barbecue...wow! It was not only a generous portion, it was also delicious! I have pulled pork at a lot of places, and this was definitely up there. I mean, not best ever, but definitely delicious!! If we lived closer, I'd absolutely come back just for the food. The sandwich plate was about $9, which was a great deal given the amount of meat and the quality. Also fun, they had a plethora of sauces to choose from - sweet, regular, Carolina, mustard, and a couple more. They were all good, but I ended up using the sweet, as I often do. Some places put out a lot of low quality sauces as a gimmick, but the Mojo Kitchen's sauces were almost good enough to bottle. All-in-all, this is a fun place. Go for the music, stay for the food. Or heck, go for the food and stay for the music!

I love this place. The food, and the atmosphere are great. It's also down the road from the beach which is nice. Their pulled pork is good. Every side item is perfectly cooked. I recommend trying their mac and cheese which is amazing. I also dig their BBQ sauces. Writing this makes me want to go there right now.

First let me say that I would be giving this place a 5 but my experience here was coupled with an extremely rude waitress, but that did not ruin my experience. It couldn't have, I enjoyed this place to much. I had been waiting to try this placed ever since I got to Jacksonville, I'm from Kansas City and I love barbecue. I can say that this place did not disappoint on that aspect. The barbecue was so flavorful that I didn't even need any of the sauces that they provide. I did however order some fries for my wife and I to try the sauce on them and they we pretty good. The restaurant was somewhat loud but I fully expected that given that it was a blues bar. As far as the bar part goes, I wasn't impressed, the beer selection was limited to a few lackluster micros and regular bland macros. This was really the only low point I could find about this place, because the atmosphere, music, and delicious barbecue was more than enough to make up for any little complaints I have. MOJO is definitely worth your time to come in a have some great barbecue

Love this place!!!! The Burnt Ends are the best thing on the menu. Yummy chunks of brisket ends! We always order that. The mojo salad is amazing with all different types of meats on it. And their Mac and cheese is my favorite side. Always delicious and service and staff is amazing. I love getting it as take out also when I don't feel like cooking. YOU HAVE TO TRY THE BURNT ENDS!!

A Chain Restaurant that Capitalizes on the "House of Blues" Theme. Trendy. That said, the food is pretty darn good. I love the pulled chicken salad. I hear the pulled pork is very good too. The portions are big. The price is fair but at the high end of fair. Even if you never heard of Blind Blake, John Lee Hooker, or Lightnin Hopkins, you can still have a good meal, a good time, and pretend you're part of the blue's scene. One of my friends is a recovering banana pudding addict and claims that this is some of the best banana pudding in town.

Don't let the "Blues Bar" sign confuse you like it did us...This is more of a restaurant with late night blues music vs a bar. Otherwise, it's nice inside and their menu looks interesting.

Excellent wings, always hot....great staff, very friendly - have been greeted by manager several times. Eaten here dozens of times and I've never had a bad experience. My go to for wings at the beaches

Best BBQ hands down. Everything was fantastic. I could have licked the bowl on the garlic cheese grits. Smoked turkey, Brisket, pulled pork all fantastic. A must if you're in Jax. We may try another location next time to see the different mojo vibes. We liked it so much we had them cater our wedding reception! Everyone went on about how good the food was.

I've been to Mojo maybe a dozen times, so I feel qualified to state the following: - Mojo can POTENTIALLY serve really, really good pulled pork, but sometimes it was cooked quite a while ago - Mojo will feed you a LOT of food - The brisket is always depressing (sliced and dry) My biggest hangup is the sauce. They don't have a true spicy BBQ sauce and their sauces taste like they all have a bit of the same "mojo" seasoning in them. Mojo's sauces feel BBQ-*themed*, if that makes ANY sense at all. Kind of like getting tzatziki sauce at a Greek restaurant and finding out it's ranch dressing. But hey, if you're near Jax Beach and you are all OMG GET ME TO THE BBQ RIGHT NOW, it's your only option, so go for it.

YUMMM. We love Mojo's! Maybe a little too much, we eat there a lot. We pretty much always get the same thing cuz we love it so much, two meat combo with pork and turkey, sometimes brisket. They seriously have the best turkey I have ever had! All of the sides are fabulous too, and yummy fresh salads with good lettuce! The onion rings are dangerous, as well as the grilled wings appetizer- really, really good flavor! I've yet to try something I didn't like!

OK BBQ; Great Drinks and Onion Rings; Banana Pudding; Somewhat Uneven Quality. We found this place by accident. On the positive side, the atmosphere is casual and a great place to bring children. Our server was very attentive, efficient and knowledgeable. The drinks (Drunken Cucumber & Ward's Sazerac) were unusual and very good. The onion rings were superb and perfectly done. The Banana Pudding was just like I remember (I am originally from Western NC and this was my favorite desert) and far better than other restaurants I've tried. On the negative side, we ordered the 'Whole Hawg' since we were a group of 4. It comes with 4 sides. The pulled pork was good but the sausage (tasted like a small Kielbasa) was fatty and lukewarm. The dish only came with 2 Kansas style square cut ribs (we ordered an additional 2) that was somewhat fatty (not entirely unexpected for ribs). We tried the various sauces (e.g., vinegar, mustard, sweet, mojo) and they just seemed ok. The chicken was dry. The turkey seemed dry but the rest of the group said it was good. We also ordered the 'burnt ends' (end cut of the rib). They were tasty but some were very fatty. Overall, it is a popular appetizer according to our waiter and we could see why. The collard greens were tough, cold and watered down. Overall, I would still go back to this restaurant because of the drinks, onion rings, pulled pork/burnt ends and banana pudding but would try other things in the menu. The 'Whole Hawg' just didn't work for us.

This is one of my top BBQ places. I describe it as bbq fusion. Mojos has a unique ambiance, creative menu and great scotch/single malt selection. To start, if you like smoky flavor, you have to try their smoked chicken wings. They are rich, nicely seasoned and tender. I then had the Kansas City Burnt Ends. First time I ever had this dish anywhere. Never seen this in a menu. This is the crusty edge of the brisket. Moist, savory and rich. Not for the light harted though. It reminds me of the fresh pork grinds. Crunchy, yet fatty and meaty. To finish off, I had the spareribs. Perfectly smoked, great dry rub and tender fall off the bone. They also make a wide variety of unique sauces. You can spend the evening trying out endless combinations. Great experience. I hope they open a South Florida location soon!

Burnt ends with mojo BBQ sauce were awesome. Friendly bar staff. Good local beers. I don't usually like chains but this one proved to rise above the rest.

Can't comment on the food because we walked out after being ignored by the staff. We went there on 5/25/2014 because that is where our son wanted to go for his birthday. We arrived around 7:00 PM and we're immediately seated, I would say the place was maybe 2/3 occupied. The hostess handed us menus and from that point on it was like we were invisible. After about 20 minutes they sat another party of 4 at a table across from and immediately started taking their drink orders. I was done at that point and just walked out, worst service ever!

Vegetarians beware! Whenever I am craving some good ole' BBQ, Mojo is the place to satisfy it. The meat is perfect to my liking, tender and juicy. "Who needs dressing, I got barbeque sauce!"

WOW!!! So, we decide to go to a show at this place. Since they serve food, we figured we'd make it dinner an a show... YAY! We get here and realize its a $20 cover to get in and decide we might not want to stay for the show after all (since we're on a budget) but we will stay for dinner.... but they refused to seat us when we said we weren't sure if we were staying for the show. Fine by me, the menu didn't look very appetizing to me when I got a chance to check it out. The beers are over priced and the people who worked the door were rude. I WILL NOT be back.

One of the best BBQ meals I have ever had. I had the NC style vinegar chopped pork and the pulled pork combo with fries and baked beans. The pork was tender and not tough or fatty. The vinegar sauce on the chopped pork was perfect and not overwhelming. Their chipotle style BBQ sauce was one of the best I have had anywhere and as great as the pulled pork was I think I could eat a shoelace if it was covered in that sauce! The fries were hot with a good seasoning and not too heavy tasting and the beans were great as well. I had the sweet tea and it was perfect as it was sweet without feeling like you are drinking a candy bar. Mojo's, come to DC- we need GREAT BBQ up here!

Really good BBQ. I have eaten there and done take out orders. I have had Brisket and pork and both are great. there side orders, are also good. Mashed potatoes are very good. Cole slaw is very creamy. The fries are very good. Can't talk BBQ without talking sauces. They have a nice varety, and all are good. The sweet and the mustard based are my favorites. I like the BBQ on Texas toast. The also have a nice bar and lets not forget blues!

I enjoyed my meal: two meats. I would like a larger portion size for the price. The chicken was average while the ribs were a bit better. That being said the MAC N CHEESE is pretty good.

Went there last night. Service was prompt and friendly. Barbeque was great. Had the brisket. It was lean and fork tender. Others had the pulled pork and said it was excellent as well. The restaurant was busy but the server was very nice and she was prompt and attentive.

Mojo Kitchen has excellent bar-b-q, and more. The sides are all delicious, and there are several to choose from. You cannot go wrong with a traditional bar-b-q sandwich or dinner at Mojo. Now for the good news and bad news. Two good: -My preference in salad is dark green leaves (the kind your mother says you should eat). The Mojo Salad is made with just that kind of lettuce, an ample amount of meat (if you order it), and such delicious mouth-watering additions (croutons made from their excellent corn-bread) that I usually order the salad without dressing. -You probably haven't had the quesadilla at Mojo Kitchen. Try it! It's the best I've had, and yes it trumps the quesadillas at Cruiser's, Tijuana Flats, and every other Mexican restaurant that comes to mind. Two bad: -The tea. Bar-b-q restaurants are known for their sweet tea. The tea at Mojo Kitchen is terrible. Go next door to Angie's, if you are thirsty. -The service. It's not that the service is awful; it's just never the same. I've been going to Mojo's since they opened at the beach, and I've never had the same server twice. The turnover in wait-staff at Mojo is extremely high. Right now there is only one person on the floor who has been there for any significant length of time. And she isn't even a server; she's a hostess.

Great consistent BBQ from a locally owned group. I have been here many times and have yet to be disappointed. Live music on some nights by solid acts is just one more reason to stop by. Full bar and friendly staff, the rib tips are great as a starter.

I love love LOVE this place. Best BBQ I've had. Makes Famous Dave's look like homeless Joe's. Everything I've gotten to eat here has been nothing short of amazing. You wont be disappointed with your stop here but make sure you do. This place is a gem!

I have only been here in Jax for 2 weeks and I've already been to this place twice. The food is tasty, the atmosphere is cool, and the service is speedy. My bf and I split The Whole Hawg, which consisted of ribs, turkey, 1/2 a chicken, pulled pork, and sausage, along with 4 sides of your choosing. (I know, we're foodie fatties.) All of the meat was delicious and cooked to perfection and the sauces are a great compliment to the different types of meat. The bf liked the mustard, I prefer the sweet sauce or Mojo. Now this deserves it's own section and separate paragraph. If there is only one thing you take away from this review it should be this: YOU MUST ORDER THE BANANA PUDDING. I don't even care if you don't like banana pudding. Order it. Try it. You will devour it. It is heavenly.

Went for lunch, fantastic BBQ, Rib tips that fell apart as you picked them up. Pulled pork and brisket were great. A large selection of good BBQ sides. Some cool cocktails. The BBQ nachos weren't great, they got soggy under all the toppings and our waiter was slow. Looks like it would a good place to hang out when they have bands in on the stage.

5 stars. Might be my favorite BBQ joint ever. Go with the Whole Hog if there are 2 or more of you eating. I go with the Ribs, Brisket, and Pulled Pork and usually substitute the sausage, chicken and turkey for more Ribs, Brisket, and Pulled Pork. It comes with four sides and you must get the Mac n Cheese as one. The only thing I wish they would change is the bread that comes with the Whole Hog to thicker pieces or biscuits. You will also have left over for days. The Onion Rings or Beef Tips are huge and meals in themselves as appetizers. No matter what you get you will not be disappointed.

Mojo Kitchen is an awesome place for BBQ. When we went there, four of us split "The Whole Hawg," a type of sample platter where you get to try all of their meats, and get four sides. Everything was cooked perfectly and was delicious. For a side, I recommend the sweet potato mash. Could even be a dessert. The service was great and they had a great selection of beers on tap. You get a lot of food for the price, I would highly recommend.

(I really do love this place but I only gave 4 out of 5 because in the past the food has sometimes been inconsistent. ) Been going here on and off for a few years. I notice that the food seems to be best for lunch and on Sundays--don't know why but it's just been my experience. Went there the other day after not having eaten there in a few months and it was great. I like the pulled pork and brisket. Brisket can sometimes be on the dry side. When I have guests in town who want good ribs I bring them here. Love the sweet bbq sauce and I would probably really like the vinegar based sauce as well but I'm too germ-phobic to try it as I can imagine everyone uses their finger to plug it when shaking it up(gross) so I wish they would use a bottle with a cap for that one. My husband likes the mac and cheese and the fries when they are fresh....sometimes the fries can taste and feel like they've been sitting a while. I love the green beans and I usually order mashed potatoes with gravy with my order and it's always good. One of my favorites is also the fried green tomatoes as they are always cooked fresh and piping hot with a crunchy batter. Oh and I love the smokey flavor in the chicken, really good. As far as ambiance, it's pretty dark in there because they keep the blinds closed but the paintings are interesting. Goes right with the dark blues joint decor--not my style but I get it. There's always a game on at the bar and although I've never been to a show, looks like it would be fun. Definite recommend.

Had the Carolina pork and brisket, with collards and Mac n cheese. The Mac n cheese was the highlight unfortunately. Having lived in NC, and traveled to Kansas city and Texas regularly I can honestly say Mojos BBQ is average at best. I was disappointed :( Had high hopes based on the reviews.

I agree with John S. It's strange to me that with a citizenry so rich in (ahem) Southern Heritage, Jacksonville's barbecue restaurants are mediocre at best. With our close proximity to rural GA and SC, one would think that whole-hog style barbecue would be represented more heavily here, but it isn't for some reason. I think that the majority of local BBQ places have 4-5 star reviews because smoked meats are really hard to completely mess up, but I have not been thrilled by any of them (at least, not 4-5 stars thrilled). All too often, they are too dry, or too covered in sauce, or not smoky enough, or too smoky. Mojo Kitchen is an exception to the above. It's a little on the pricey side, but the quality is better than most of the other places in town.

Food is good. (Mac and cheese is delish!) Service is wonderful! After waiting a bit longer than normal a waitress explained to me that the food was not up to their liking and they were redoing it. NICE! Will return again!

I've been living in Jax Beach for over a year now and every time I drive by Mojo Kitchen, it's always busy but for whatever reason, I never went. Randomly decided to go here one night and I'm SO SO glad we did! It's reallllly good. We had no expectations except that the yelp reviews were really good. We walked in and seated ourselves (it was a week nite and not too busy). Service was okay. Can't say that the waitress was overly friendly but she got the job done for the most part - just a little slow. But if anything, the slow speed helped us to slow things down a little and enjoy the food. We had a hard time deciding what to get and so ended up getting the "whole hawg" which is a hodge podge of their BBQs. Let me tell you, it's a ton of food - easily feeds 4 people. The meal came with 4 sides and they were so good! The mac n cheese is like a casserole and on point - this coming from a mac n cheese aficionado. Black-eyed peas were yummy too. And the fries - so fresh and crunchy. The meal came with texas toast which was nice to pair with the meats. Hands down the smoked ribs are awesome! Everything was really good though. So juicy, tender and you could really taste the smokey flavor, especially in the turkey. Our favorite BBQ sauce was the sweet sauce which cut through the smokiness pretty well. I highly recommend going. I plan on going back soon for a full plate of the ribs! They have a stage for bands so I bet it gets pretty rowdy on these nights. Keep in mind I think there's a cover charge when there are bands. *Update* Went here again a couple times and both times it was delicious! I live near this place and every time I drive by my mouth waters. I like getting the veggie plate b/c the sides are so good but I'd substitute the corn bread, it's kinda dry.

Whatever was broken, has been fixed in the last few months. The BBQ is noticeably improved. It appears that someone that knows their way around a smoker has been put in charge. It also looks like the wait staff has been nearly entirely replaced, with much more competent and friendly servers.

Mojo Kitchen is absolutely one of the best places in Jacksonville to get barbie que, without a doubt. The food is everything you could ask for in a bbq joint... savory, sweet, meat falling off the bone, cheesy mac-n-cheese, crunchy coleslaw, texas toast... delicious. I mean, it is basically your everyday bbq... but there is some nearly invisible line between amazing bbq and just average bbq. It is hard to explain, but it's there. And Mojo has crossed it. They are amazing. The atmosphere is awesome, a little bit country, a tiny bit rock and roll, and open... still feels comfortable and cozy. And the best part of all? The stage. Where they put on live music. Country, blues, a mix in between? [Aka rock and roll?] I went there one time for a friend's graduation party and Conrad Oberg, an unbelievably talented blues guitarist who happens to be in high school and also blind [google him], was playing there. It was amazing! We had the best time ever. This is a great place to go, have a great meal [I can't emphasize that enough] and have a great time. Out and out a winner.

Their chili cheese fries are possibly the best thing in the world. Not only the best food in the world, but the best thing in any category. At any rate, they're up there with 30 Rock, head massages, and puppy breath. Also, banana pudding. Pro tip: Get it to go if you're too full. They give you a bigger portion for the same price.

I really enjoyed the pulled pork. My wife got the beef brisket, which was also good. The sides were tasty as well. The beer was cold and clean. Good service as well. I'm excited to return and try the ribs.

Simply the best smoked BBQ turkey in town! Their veggie sides are delicious, though their baked beans do leave a bit to be desired (to be fair, no baked beans will ever live up to those of Fat Boy's BBQ in Crystal River, FL). Mojo's makes a great BBQ salad. I like mine with, guess what, smoked turkey. The salad is served with jalapeno cornbread croutons with a slightly sweet flavor for a twist. My friend, Justa, asks for a bowl of them with Ranch- a DIY appetizer! Mojo's offers an array of BBQ sauces, from mustard to extra spicy. I really love the Sweet sauce, it's extra delicious for dipping french fries in! Their Iced Tea is pretty good as well. Two thumbs down for serving Pepsi products though- everyone knows BBQ tastes best with a cold Coca Cola!

Terribly disappointing. I went with my Mother and friend on Sunday February 5th at about 2pm and had a terrible experience. We first ordered drinks, I had a Diet with no ice and my Mother a Blue Moon. My soda came with ice and my Moms beer didn't have fruit. When asked, the waitress told my mother "we normally don't give fruit with Blue Moon, it's by request only"... This was strange since my friends water had a lemon slice in it. I get the feeling someone didn't want to slice any oranges.... Sure enough 2 mins later she shows up with a orange slice and announces "i sliced these just for you!" Next my mother was served a chicken leg/ thigh which was still red and slightly bloody on the inside even though the outside appeared to be cooked. We noted this to the server who took it away and bought a new chicken leg out..... On the same plate, sitting in the same blood. Someone PLEASE send this girl to Serve-safe training. Overall I was terribly disappointed because I had heard good things about this place. I will not return... PS to cap it off the server put a Stella Artois on the bill instead of the Blue Moon.

Best BBQ in town. Great sides. Amazing brisket. Always quick friendly service. We crave Mojo's and need some at least once a month. Enjoy it as a venue also, very intimate experience with the blues bands that come thru. In my dream world the music would come on at at 8 instead of 10. Consider that most blues fans are boomers and we're getting tired by 10. I get it though, they need to take care of the dinner crowd and keep the music separate. You guys do a pretty good job of bringing in legit blues bands. Thanks.

Went for lunch and had a great meal, with large portions. Got the pulled pork lunch special for $10, which came with two sides. The french fries were very good, as well as the baked beans. My wife got a salad as one of her sides and said it was also good. Waitress was friendly and kept our glasses filled, which is a sign to me of an excellent waitress! Will definitely go back when visiting Jacksonville Beach.

Short ribs were not good. Pulled pork was boring. KC burnt ends were so-so. Sauce selections were very good. Sides: black eyed peas, mashed potatoes, corn and something else we can't remember. Overall not a very memorable experience.

The only thing I like more than BBQ is burgers, and Mojo makes a good BBQ. The downside is that I felt the quantity of food was actually kind of small for ordering the 'large' sampler entree. I got the brisket and ribs. The ribs were tasty but I wish I just got a big box of their brisket. It was delicious, and actually went very well with their gravy and mashed potatoes (which were fresh and buttery).

my bf and i were just here today...all i could hear him say the whole time we were eating was...'mmm..mmmmmm...mmmmmm!!!' it was that good...the brisket was to die for...the chicken was so moist ..pulled pork was awesome...and the sausage is so darn good.!!! i love thier mac n cheese and mashed potatoes w/ gravy...we will definitely come back!!!

I've been to Mojo's several times both for lunch and dinner and I have to agree with most of the previous reviews. I don't have enough experience with BBQ, due to the fact that I'm a yankee, so I can't say anything about it being the best. What I can say is that the food is great! I get the pulled pork quesadillas just about every time and share that with the table. They have a very flexible menu though and will swap out meats if you don't care for pork or want to have something different. I'm also a big fan of the bbq chicken, but like many bbq places they have a variety of meats and combinations if you are really hungry. The service is fast and friendly. It's a very busy place, so they are running around, but my glass is rarely empty and the food is always on the table in record time.

I have visited this Mojo's location several times and once at the Fleming island location. I must say that everything I have ordered has been great. I love their corn you can order as a side, it has been slightly charred and I crave it all the time! The meat is juicy and they have several sauces to choose from. I have also ordered the boom boom shrimp and the fried green tomatoes. Now I am a California girl and had never had fried green tomatoes but they were soooo good I was trying to copy the recipe at home a few days later!! I agree with other reviewers that at times my table has been the only table or just a handful of other people. We go mainly as a late lunch so that may be why but we always love it here every time!

Mojo's has great BBQ and a great atmosphere. The art adorning the walls is interesting and goes with the blues theme of this place. I have went to see music here and it is a great venue for it. The service is good, food is good and the prices are fair. Check it out on a night when there is music playing for a more relaxed date night than the bar scene.

Had a great meal here last week. Faves were the brisket and the spare ribs by far - the pulled pork was good but paled in comparison. They have a bunch of good sides, especially the sweet potato concoction that might just have crack in it, and the smoked corn. Blue Moon beer on tap, friendly staff, too. I suddenly want bbq after writing this review, so I might just go back tonight :)

The sauces are unreal. I dare you to pick just one. You can see and taste the spice in each one. I had the chicken. The yard bird was rubbed with spicy goodness and was the best chicken dish of any kind I ever had. After I ate here I drove to Sonny's and slapped the manager in the face demanding they shut their doors.

I was so glad to catch the earlier recommendation -- this place was fantastic. Mojo's is worlds apart from the BBQ joint we visited in Rocky Mount, NC. Each style and vibe has its own place I guess, but all my money's on Mojo for the food and the environment. There was plenty of seating available (Sunday evening) and we grabbed a booth with a view of the basketball game. Service was quite good. But the food was the reason we'll be going back many more times. Having a few different BBQ sauces is a smart move. We each found our favorites (chipotle, mojo and vinegar) and everything we ordered was a hit: ribs, pulled pork, baked beans, and that jalapeno cornbread. Even the veggie platter (for the lady) got two resounding thumbs up. Yuengling on tap, too? Way to make a guy feel at home. I know what you're thinking. With Jax Beach restaurants, this dude doles out nothing but five-star reviews. Where's the discriminating palette? I'm two for two right now, but I figure my luck will run out eventually. So be it. As a carnivore, with Mojo's and Tento I've already found my go-to places for four-legged fare in these parts. Highly recommended.

if im doing bbq -- im going to mojos. end of story. delicious sides, delicious bbq, especially the pulled pork & chicken, delicious sweet tea. what else do you need from a bbq joint?

We'd give this a 4.5. We ordered the Whole Hawg which was an awesome deal. It came with BBQ turkey, chicken, ribs, brisket, and pulled pork along with texas toast and 4 sides, all for under $30!!! Food was great, especially the pulled pork and turkey! Baked beans were my fav side. Can't beat this value.

Went to lunch here a few Sundays ago as I had heard they have some of the best if not the best mac n cheese and bbq in town. It was kinda of quite on our visit which I did not mind as I heard the place can get really loud when its packed. The bar was big and seem like a cool place for happy hour. I went with the dinner portion spareribs, side of mac and cheese, side of mash taters, and texas toast. The spareribs were ok but I brought some home for lunch and the next two days they tasted even better. The mac an cheese and mash taters were pretty good. I guess I was expecting more of a punch on the flavor side since I had heard so much about it. Ok service and good prices overall but I still prefer the ribs from Texas Road House!

I was visiting Jacksonville and figured I would try some of their more unique and highly rated restaurants. Mojo Kitchen was a no brainer - I love barbecue, it had great reviews and was close to where I was staying. I ended up going there multiple times so got to try multiple dishes. Their spareribs, which are served with no sauce, are amazing. I prefer ribs served like this so that I can enjoy the true flavor of the meat and smoking process. Theirs are one of the two best pork ribs I've ever had, either tied with or a close second to the ribs at Famous Dave's. The other amazing dish I've had there was the Mahi Mahi (Fresh Catch of the Day), which was really surprising for a BBQ joint. The fish was fresh, flavorful and tender and was served in a nice portion size. The pulled pork and the beef brisket are also pretty good. As a fan of good sausage, I had to try their smoked sausage plate - what a disappointment! It tasted like average to below average supermarket kielbasa. I've actually had better sausage grilled in front of the supermarket (special events like 4th of July, etc). The barbecued shrimp was pretty good but was somewhat gritty like they did not wash it well enough. For sides, appetizers, drinks, I would recommend the fried pickles, garlic cheddar grits, and the Green Room Hells Yeah. In conclusion, this is my favorite restaurant in Jacksonville so far.

Oh, this place is great. I had dinner here with some friends tonight. I wasn't all that hungry, so I settled for the Smokehouse Chicken Sandwich with a side order of hand-cut French fries. It was an absolutely mouth-watering meal. The decor of this place is awesome, too. It is definitely an authentic deep South barbecue joint.

Everyone I've ever met that's been here loves it. I go for lunch quite often and dinner when I get the chance. The BBQ and southern sides are fabulous -- I recommend the North Carolina Pork Shoulder (they also have regular pulled pork if you absolutely hate vinegar). The BBQ salad is a tremendous dinner (plus part of lunch the next day, sometimes!) The most unexpectedly superlative dish is the Smokehouse Burger. It is cooked perfectly every time and all the toppings are fresh. Oh, and great live music! What's not to love?

I love Mojo! Food is delicious and the place looks really cool. They often have live blues bands. My favorite Jax beach establishment.

  • John L.

Lets start of with what we liked. The feel of the restaurant is very nice. Nice high ceilings, a stage for live music, and nice art work of classic blues signers. The waitstaff was fast and courteous. Now onto the food. Nothing spectacular. We had the onion rings and while they looked impressive when delivered, the batter falls right off, so you either eating a sliver of onion of batter. I ordered the Mojo Ribs. While the very meaty, they were dry. Other ordered the pulled pork. Again OK, but not very flavorful. You can add cole slaw and sauces, but on its on not very memorable. We quit while we were behind and didn't order desert. If you're into BBQ and the Blues, give them a try. Bono's BBQ in my opinion is much better, but be sure to go to the on Gate Parkway on the Southside or on Atlantic. The one on 3rd street is a hole.

This is our new favorite! Aside from the fact that the place is always crowded ( no matter how early you get there ), I can't think of a single complaint. All of their sides are homeade, and the fries are hand- cut. The potato salad has a little kick that's awesome! They have a small bar with a decent beer selection. But if your lookin for wine, T.S. (tough s@#t ). Poor selection. Priced a little higher than most B-B-Q places, but worth it! Update- 2/26/07- they have improved their wine selection a little

Mojo never disappoint us. Best BBQ in town. Their ribs are falling from the bone. The chicken has cripsy skin with smoky aroma. And, the price is right. Go try it and you will love this BBQ place.

Probably closer to a 4 1/2 star than 5, but overall very solid BBQ. Portions are large and pork was tender and tasty. Had the pulled pork and Carolina pork, you have to sauce your own pulled pork but they have several different options. Great fresh cut fries, the wife loved the sweet potato mash. Will definitely be going back.

MoJo's Kitchen is now my family's favorite barbecue restaurant, and we wish we had a MoJo's at home. I dined there with my husband and 2 kids (ages 14 and 10). We immediately fell in love with the high ceiling, funky artwork, and excellent music (sort of a blues/rock/jazz mix, think Stevie Ray Vaughn). Our draft beers were icy cold, and the onion rings were huge, crunchy and spicy with black pepper. The spare ribs, brisket, Carolina shoulder and pulled pork were all tender, moist and wonderfully smoky, and there were six different sauces to sample (we liked Sweet and Chipotle best). And, oh, the side dishes! All freshly made, and all delicious, with special kudos to the macaroni and cheese (creamy and cheesy) and mashed sweet potato (with crunchy brown sugar topping). We were stuffed, but couldn't resist sharing a banana pudding for dessert. My mouth is watering just writing this review. The service was excellent - our friendly, efficient server gave us tips on what to order and how. We can't wait to get back to Jax Beach for more. And we are hoping to catch some live music next time (on Fri and Sat nights, I think).

liked the ambience as it looks like a bbq place you'd find in memphis except a little bigger and roomier. can't say it is the best bbq b/c i only had a pulled pork sandwich. it was pretty good. the best part of the restaurant is that you can dress the bbq the way you want it. so, at the table, you have your choice of 5 or 6 sauces. the chiptole sauce was great (smokey and a little spicy). my side dish was mashed potatoes in gravy. it was really good. the mashed potatoes had lumps of potatoes and it was really creamy and buttery. this place is a great value. a decent amount of food for a good price.

Mojo's is consistently 'OK.' I've never been super impressed by their BBQ and menu. However, the service always seems decent and if you want a more 'upscale' BBQ dining experience this place isn't bad. I do enjoy their live music but it's not a place I typically visit for a meal.

Great BBQ joint! There are two others around town all equally as good. My only gripe is with the sides, most are Good but the Mac n' Cheese has no flavor but looks amazing. Go without this and you'll be set!

Try the pit-smoked chicken wings, the blackened catfish and smoked corn. Delicious! My daughter had the BBQ shrimp and dirty rice, also delicious. My husband had the brisket, which he said was ok, and the collard greens, which were very bland. My other daughter had the pulled pork, which was very generous in size, but was also ok. Interesting, the best things on the menu wasn't the BBQ. Disappointing.

We were sorely disappointed in this restaurant. The atmosphere and decor was cool. The service was great. The food was average. I ordered shrimp and grits. I love grits! I missed them so much while living away from the South. The grits were fine but I couldn't taste anything other than the spicy seasoning they used. I couldn't taste onion, garlic, or cheese...only spicy. The heat was fine, it's just that it overshadowed all other flavors completely. My meat-loving fiance ordered the 2 meat platter. He really wanted to order the 'whole hog' but felt too much of a glutton doing so. After he started his meal, we were so glad he didn't order the more expensive whole hog meal. His meat was a bit on the luke-warm side. Our dishes came out within 5 minutes of ordering it seemed. The restaurant was not busy, but still... when you get your food that quickly, one can only wonder how long it's been sitting around pre-prepped... We would only return for drinks and atmosphere for live music, not for the food.

Went here for lunch on a Sunday... + Food was great. Had the pulled pork, loved every bite. + Assortment of BBQ sauces, mustard, vinegar and hot sauce on every table - Atmosphere was alright. They have live music some nights so it kind of feels like a warehouse. I'm sure it's perfect for when the band is playing but feels uninviting if you're there for a meal. - Service was slow and it seemed like the server hated his job. Example: he brought the check by (we were done eating), didn't take any plates away and disappeared for 10 min. When I asked a waitress if we could pay, she seemed annoyed and went somewhere to find our original server. Bottom line: Get your food to go.

Pulled pork sandwich. That is all. It's my favorite BBQ spot in Jacksonville, hands down - so much so, trying other BBQ in town makes me feel like I'm cheating on MOJO. Pulled pork sandwich with mac & cheese is my go-to! Try the whiskey. All of it!

Really bad service. The hostess was really sweet and a few of the servers were helpful (in finding our server, Leah) she got us drinks quickly, took our order quickly (asked if we would be sharing our platter and 3 sides i said yes but please leave a menu so we can order more) and then was no where to be seen after our order came at all. A male server brought our food out and brought us fresh drinks (mine had something on the inside of the cup) we waited for her as to not run a server that was not assigned to us. And waited. Finally I asked him to find her when I was done eating to order the rest of the food to go. Brisket was great.

Although we came here years ago and weren't impressed, my experience this time was pretty good. Service was great, with our server bring fully inattentive with perfect timing. Our food came out quickly and hot. I ordered the blackened catfish and it was good, although they went overboard with the blackening. You could barely see a spot not caked with seasoning. The tartar sauce was good, unusual in that it had a lot of dill and no relish, but I enjoyed it. The combo of that with the fish was very good. I had black eyed peas and collard greens as the sides. The black eyed peas were perfect. The collard greens would have been good, but they added an abnormal amount of cayenne pepper, which made them overwhelmingly hot. My lunch date loved her pulled pork and said the fries were phenomenal. It would be nice if they would consider making the cornbread without flour so us gluten free folks could enjoy bread with our meal too. I wasn't able to enjoy any bread offerings that come with the meal. All in all, it was a really good experience.

So many unique items in BBQ land on the MoJo menu, but I know of no other JAX outfit producing the vinegar-stewed Carolina style pulled pork, and theirs on a bun with the bitter relish/slaw stuff atop is nothing short of a brilliant outcast in a common cuisine for these parts; they've all got the dry type conventional pork, and only MoJo's got that Carolina switch. I've had some brisket @ the University location which was as tender as a mother's love. Baked beans and black eyed peas are both delish. Stay away from the Cheerwine if beyond seven years spun round the sun ;-)

First I will just say how excited I was to finally hear about a place that has North Carolina style bbq!! Living in NC for 13 years gave me a great love for that vinegar style pork. Unfortunately when I came to Florida 8 years ago I've only had that sweet rib like bbq which I am not a fan of. My bf & I visited Mojo's on a Wednesday around 4:30pm. The restaurant was pretty slow but people started trickling in as the night went on. I was pretty impressed with the decor of the inside. There was a decent sized bar which is kind of unsual at a bbq restaurant. My bf & I split the North Carolina pork plate which came with 2 sides & a side of texas toast. We got mac & cheese & french fries. I am not a fan of macNcheese but my bf said it was ok. The french fries were also just "ok" & fairly crispy for my taste. The pork on the other hand was quite delicious. There are 5 different sauces on the table that you can use. I tried all of them and the mojo sauce was my fave! Wasn't a fan of the sweet or mustard sauce. Being a ranch snob, I often base a restaurant on their ranch dressing. Mojo's ranch was on point & delicious for dipping the fries in!! It was definitely homemade & hit the spot. Last but not least, the banana pudding was TO DIE FOR!! Like omg uhhh-mazing!! I have beem crazing it since I had it. It was a little on the pricey side $5 for just a small bowl but nonetheless it wouldn't stop me from getting it over & over again!! Our server was friendly & attentive and met our needs promptly. I will definitely be going back again!! Probably would try the pork sandwich next time. && DON'T FORGET TO GET THE HOMEMADE BANANA PUDDING!!

I love to stop by Mojo's BBQ every once and a while. I have only been to the beach location but every time I alway leave happy! It has a great vibe. Very creative decor that gives you that great local barbeque spot feel. Casual but comfortable, I have only ever sat at the bar but I am always surrounded by locals that are friendly to talk to along with the great bartenders that always provide excellent service and great recommendations. Their ribs are melt in your mouth tender and brisket is so flavorful and moist you keep wanting more. Their smoked turkey which I was hesitant at first because turkey is usually dry to me was quite a surprise. It so juicy and the great smokiness that infuses it is unbelievable. Their rib tips are the hot item. Tender little bites of the best part of the rib in one of their signature BBQ sauces is a great appetizer to start. My favorite that I usually order is the pulled pork quesadilla and their fries. It's so delicious with the tender pulled pork, cheddar cheese all encased in a warm flour tortilla. Their fries are hand cut and always are made to order so they come out super hot but amazing! I'm in love with their ranch that they always pair with my fries! The star that brings everything together is their selection of homemade sauces that the set you up with whenever you order food. My favorite is the sweet! Paired with one of their local brews it makes everything perfect! They also take great pride in their whisky selection and signature cocktails that they also feature on their happy hour! Overall Mojo's definitely knows their BBQ! Service is great, food is top notch and they have everyone wanting more and more! If you are craving a great experience, great BBQ and a fun local feel....check out Mojo's!

Wow. Where to start. Great atmosphere, amazing food, 5 star service, and the best selection of bourbon this side of Jacksonville (other than my liquor cabinet!) Can't recommend this place enough. Hands down best BBQ I've had in Jax, and I went more for the whiskey- not expecting much. I was blown away by the service, food, atmosphere, and of course the amazing whiskey selection they have behind the bar.

Great barbecue, great sides, Plus handmade and battered onion rings and blues on stage. The beef tips are aaaaawesome, but not better than their brisket! I come for the brisket and when my wife has me make the special trip for the onion rings, I always get the large order, so I will have some left over when I get home.

We've been here as a family numerous times. We love the brisket, the shredded pork, the pulled pork, the buttermilk chicken...basically everything except the service which can range from mediocre to awful. If they can fix the service, I'll change my score to 5 stars and go there twice as much.

Been here at least a handful of times over the last 6+ years but always forget to write about it. But... if you want quality barbeque, this is the spot. Had dinner here earlier tonight with the bf, and we both got the North Carolina pulled pork sandwich. The difference between that and the regular pulled pork is that the NCPP apparently has more of a kick to it and tastes a little more vinegar-y than the regular. I like me vinegar. The sandiwch buns are buttered and slightly toasted, so eating it with the pork gave it a little texture and it all happily went into my tummy. My bf commented on how he liked that the pork was all pretty uniform and didn't have those random pieces of fat or gristle in it like they have in other places. Sides are on point. I got the mac and cheese and the bf got fries. Delish. Mac and cheese I guess looked like it was mixed with cheese plus extra cheese on top. Can't go wrong with more than enough cheese. (Unless you're lactose intolerant and eat dairy anyway, you foodie masochists.) We both also got cole slaw with our meals and I don't remember seeing slaw like that before. It definitely had more of a vinegar taste to it also, but like I stated previously: I like me vinegar. Service was solid. No complaints. Our meals tonight were about $9 a person and it was enough for us to be full and not have any leftovers. I'm a relatively big eater -- for a female (not sure why I'm not 300+ lbs) -- and I usually out eat my bf, but he even ended up eating a portion of my pork sandwich because I was so full and he really liked it. Other things I've tried in the past that I liked: - Onion rings. I don't like onions, but these were pretty yummy. They're large and crispy! - Jalapeno corn bread. - Mashed potatoes. I'm sure I've tried and liked other things but I don't remember any specifics to write about them accurately. Great Southern Blues atmosphere. They have live music I think on the weekends. All in all, quality barbeque, gotta dish out a little more cash than you would at other similar restaurants but definitely worth it.

Easily the best chicken wings I've ever had. I've been seeking equally good wings or better since the first time I had MoJo's years ago. No luck, yet. Five star wings. Everything else I've had at Mo Jo's is also delicious.

I will admit I am not much of a bbq eater, but love coming here for the live music. We had a group of 12 for the Devon Allman Band show last night and had a great time with our group of friends. What I loved: I wasn't hungry but had a bite of my fiance's pulled chicken sammy and it melted in my mouth. I almost ordered one, but the brain kicked in saying "you aren't hungry". I had a bite of an onion ring...same story. I loved being up close and personal for DA! What I didn't love: the numerous eyerolls by the waitress whenever we asked for anything. We tried to coordinate our orders, but there were 12 of us so sometimes it's not that easy. I actually quit ordering after the third eye roll/sigh (maybe customer service isn't the right job for her)! I don't like that it is nearly impossible to find out who is playing when, how to get tickets etc. I've talked to the manager twice, and received deer in the headlight looks. Okayyy...just thinking you might want BUSINESS. I happened to hear DA was playing and got 12 paying customers in. Ordering tickets online is a joke. I'm still perplexed by the lack of marketing/advertising. It would be so easy to mention it on FB. The hostess never seems to know what is going on with tickets either (for this show, Tinsley Ellis' show or Conrad Oberg's show). My fiance and I stopped in to catch Oberg's last set last year (after hearing at dinner he was playing) and were told we couldn't come in if we didn't already have tickets. We looked at each perplexed because there weren't many people there and we had money in hand to buy tickets. The hostess then said we could come in but it would be $12.00 each or 2 tickets for $25.00 (aren't package deals usually less expensive??). HUH?!? We walked out. Lessons learned: as a lover of live music, I will check the website more frequently and next time I will go hungry! My friends all loved everything they ordered, and it isn't all just bbq. PS, manager, PLEASE work on the marketing/advertising for music.

Mojo is slinging some tasty barbecue from the Jax Beach outpost of the local chain. I stopped by Friday, and was really happy with the place. As a mountain man who spent about 8 years living in North GA right on the Appalachian Trail, I like to think I know a thing or two about BBQ and I never had very high expectations for Florida. Don't even get me started on Bono's. MOJO has it down though. The ambiance is cool, and it reminds me of some of the BBQ places downtown in ATL or Nashville. The lighting is dim, There's a huge bar packed to the gills with whiskey, and they play a lot of dirty, bluesy rock music. I was pumped to hear not one but two Jack White songs in the hour or so I was there. The pulled pork is killer. It had just a touch of charring on the outside while still staying perfectly moist throughout. I liked all of the sauces they make. Vinegar based sauces are my favorite, but the mustard and MOJO sauces are really good here as well. The sides are great. The smoked corn was my favorite, but an honorable mention goes to the collard greens. The bar is stocked with an amazing whiskey list, and a decent draft selection. The bar does violate one of my pet peeves though, which is pouring inexpensive beers in 8 or 10oz tulip glasses and up-charging. They hit me for something like 6 bucks for a small pour of pinglehead red. This place serves tasty pigs, but the bar also puts them in lipstick.

OH MY GOD, I have been reborn! Never have I ever had barbecue quite like this. The servers are friendly and spunky and surprisingly attractive! They know their menu inside and out and will recommend the shit out of it for you. The atmosphere is fun and inviting. They have an extensive beer list along with any kind of distilled beverage your heart could possibly desire. But even if they had no alcohol and the service was terrible, the food alone would keep me coming back. The blackened catfish is so spicy and tangy and perfect that I don't even know what to do with myself. Do I yell for joy? Do a little dance? Should I even keep eating it or savor it, maybe save a little for later, maybe just stretch it out into an all-day eating fest? The mac n cheese is heaven, just really absolute-without-a-doubt pure heaven. It didn't need any salt, it didn't need any extra anything, it just needed to be in my belly! I can't believe I almost forgot about the pudding! The catfish threw my tastebuds a little party and I was totally satisfied, but then I had the banana pudding and my life was never the same again. What's in that? Graham crackers? Nilla wafers? I don't know and I don't care. This is what happiness tastes like. MOJO, you've outdone yourself.

Came here for lunch on 7/26/14 with Fiance and soon to be In-Laws. Must say..... This place is waaaaaaaayyyyyyy better than Sonny's BBQ. For starters we had the their onion rings..... Sooo good.... onion rings are HUGE! best part is.... when you bite into it the batter stays on the ring! Fiance had the pulled pork sandwich.... which I couldn't resist I HAD to of course take a bite of his Mac n Cheese. Can we say CRREAAAAMMMYYYYY Delicious!!! Yep! I couldn't make my mind up so I took the two plate meat combo. Texas Link and North Carolina Pulled Pork.... and your choice of two sides.... I ordered double collard greens because I LOVE collard greens! Yep... all was delicious. For sure will be coming here again anytime I visit family here. Different sauces on the table for all those who like Sweet, Vinegar, Mustard, BBQ, and MOJO's special sauce. Atmosphere and Service! AWESOME!

Service was a bit slow especially consider there were not that many eating. We shared the fried pickles, I had the Mojo salad with turkey. I must say the vinegar on the table was better than any dressing they had. My hubby had the club sandwhich. They only cut it in two pieces which makes it nearly impossible to eat. He had to cut the two pieces into two more pieces to better manage eating it. Not blown away but it was good.

Um no. Bono's kills this place. it is also pricey. All my friends were raving about this place so I was excited to try it. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad....but...I need a down home pit, and Bono's is where it is at! This seemed more like one of those hipster bbq joints that are popping up, but I prefer down home, hole in the wall, succulent southern flavor and aromas when it come to my barbeque, thank you.

Second best BBQ in Jax. Onion rings and fried pickles are DANK. Local craft draft beer, good options. Excellent signature cocktail options. Sauces are good. Never ordered anything there I didn't love except for maybe the Hot Links, which was OK. If you have a hungry group, get the Whole Hawg.

This place is great for BBQ. Had the pulled pork and the brisket. Both were absolutely delicious, tender and flavorful. The sweet mash was out of this world. I wish I would have found this place sooner!

Pulled pork was excellent, very juicy. Brisket was a little dry unfortunately. Mac n cheese was creamy and very good. Coleslaw was finely diced and not too sweet or too bitter. Dirty rice was good as well, with a little kick. Sweet potato mash was awesome, it tasted like candy. The chicken nachos were awesome, but the portion was very big, so don't eat all of the nachos or you'll be super full. I would definitely come back. The service was great and fast as well.

WOW, our son took us here while visiting him in JAX. He know we like ALL types of excellent food and Mojo Kitchen did not disappoint. The hostess was quick in seating us and even asked about our preference rather than ignoring us and balancing the servers load. I really like that, it sets the tone for the evenings meal. So few restaurants coach their hostesses how to greet and seat the customer. The space has very high industrial ceilings and an industrial look. Our son says this is their Blues themed BBQ, the same owners has other theme BBQ's in town, basically the same food with perhaps a different "special" in the other restaurants. I had the blackened catfish, perfectly cooked with beans and cole slaw, (you can choose two sides). Perfect all around, just enough blackening, excellent tarter sauce in an ample quantity, slightly different beans than i was expecting and i loved them. So, five stars for my food, the other three diners also joined the clean plate club. My ONLY negative is we live in Orlando, a bit too far to go back for a meal. Thank you to the owners and staff for a excellent meal. Jc

Tried it for the first timed ever today. Unbelievably great food and the price is fair. I can only speak for my server " bard" but I feel like I'm being served by a ninja, I didn't even realize he took my drink and refilled it until it was back.

Best BBQ in jax. The whole hog is where it's at. You get pulled pork, sausage, chicken, brisket, ribs and turkey. Plus four sides. We always have plenty to take home. I think it's around 35. Everything had a great smoked taste w a delicious rub. I prefer my meat rubbed instead of covered in sauce for BBQ (mo style). The wait staff is super friendly. Most of their cocktails are centered around whiskey. I like my cocktails to be strong so I'm good w that. Lots of seating and music. I heard someone behind me got a Reuben made w brisket and cole slaw. It's on like donkey long my next visit. Stop in bc u won't b disappointed.

This place was CRAZY good. We ordered tons of food, because we couldn't make up our minds (figured we'd take the leftovers back to the hotel), and there wasn't one thing we tasted that wasn't cooked and seasoned to perfection. The pulled pork was delicious. The blackened catfish and the fried catfish were both ridiculously good... even by the toughest of Louisiana standards (and let me tell you, I live in the thick of Cajun country, so I don't give ANYONE a pass). And the shrimp and grits -- to die for. Frankly, we couldn't stop eating. And those are just the main dishes. Now let me tell you about the side dishes... The corn? Fuggetaboutit. It was unbelievably good. Without a doubt the best corn dish I've ever had in a restaurant. They had to have cooked it fresh on the cob over a wood fired grill and then cut it off. It was amazing. Beautifully seasoned, too. Then, the green beans -- fab as well. Definitely fresh and not canned, also grilled. We gave the mac and cheese a work out, as well as the dirty rice. Both were delicious. Oh, yeh, we also had jalapeno corn bread. Couldn't put it down, it was that good. To give you an idea of how good this place was, I wrote this review a full 2 weeks after eating there, I remembered everything we ate, and my mouth started watering just thinking about it. Plus, we had very little to take back to the hotel...and it was just my wife and me... and collectively I'll bet we don't break 280 lbs. But on the way home, I assure we were every bit of 300, and felt pretty good about it.

We loved the brisket, it tastes so good. We ordered the catfish with collard green, jalapeno bread, and grits. I wasn't a fan of the grits but everything else tasted amazing.

We just finished eating here and Idk if I'd go again. Our server was horrible. She ordered our food wrong and did not apologize, didn't keep drinks filed and barely checked on us. The food was good-not necessarily great-but not bad... Once we got what we ordered. The bill came and they charged us for things we didn't get... Our child had to remind us that kids get an ice cream as we packed up to go boxes. I feel like our waitress should have been the one to offer that. The man (manager?) that helped us get the food right was friendly and the boom boom shrimp were good.

Food is ok, service pretty quick, not too many healthy choices. Had the brisket, would rate it as good, not great. Need to add a version of their barbecue sauce that is hot and spicy.

I wouldn't say Mojo's has lost their mojo, but I'm just not as impressed as I have been the other few times I've been Neither was my husband. We've found better places, like Down South in PV or Smokin' D's in St. Aug. I do, however, like that they have local brews on tap. My husband ordered the BBQ reuben. While overall he enjoyed it, he said the meat lacked in the smoke flavor and some of it was a little dry. I ordered the fried shrimp. My Mayport fried shrimp were quite tasty. And I know most people in Jax wouldn't complain about this, but the portion was huge. A dozen shrimp. two sides and cornbread is a little much. Yes, I know. Who goes to a BBQ joint and doesn't order BBQ meat? Someone that has been eating mainly vegetarian for a few weeks does. While in theory some of the choices sounded good, I honestly was not in the mood to order any thing. Not even the pulled pork that I loved so much the last time.

What a great place for lunch! I only wish we could have come back later that day for live entertainment. We found this place by using the Yelp* App on my iPhone and it was great. Our waitress couldn't have been nicer and our meal was awesome. Nice selection of beers from a fully stocked bar, We started with the Boom Boom Shrimp which we asked to be broiled rather than fried and they were incredible. The shrimp were nicely "spooned" together on the dish and the seasoning was a hit. Watch out Bonefish Grill! The lunch menu was rather extensive and, with some guidance from our waitress, we decided on the Small Pulled Pork and the Small Beef Brisket. Just what we needed after the boring drive from Tallahassee. I definitely recommend Mojo and we will be back for entertainment in the future.

Good attentive service. Jamie was our server and was prompt and steadfast. I ordered the Carolina pulled pork sandwich. It wasn't dry and has good flavor. I recommend this spot for a fast bite of BBQ.

Best BBQ in town!!! Fresh, delicious, no matter what you get. The chicken wings are amazing. All their fresh homemade sides are the best. This is how every BBQ place should be like. I've had them cater as well and it was just as good.

Called in an order for 5 lunch plates. Was told ten minutes, arrived on-time. When we arrived we were told there wasn't an order. Then someone comes from the back and starts putting in the order. Long story short, it is now an hour after my call and we are sitting waiting on our order. Manager is making amends by getting us a comp card right now, but we just spent precious time we could have been spending with my father in law who is getting treated at Mayo.
